LANE PATTERN

The Mini-Eliminator is very fortunate to have as one its sponsors the leading lane conditioning company in the world; Kegel. As part of our partnership Kegel brings their own lane machines and experts to The South Point to put down the shot each day of the tournament.

Also assisting with the designing of the lane pattern is the Director of Bowling for The South Point Mike Monyak. Mike has worked with some of the top lane people in the bowling industry and has hosted many PBA events as well as national tournaments. He is an expert on how a pattern will play in his bowling center.

As most bowlers know there are many factors that determine the scoring environment at a bowling tournament. Many of these factors (lane surface, temperature and humidity) cannot be controlled by the promoter. This is why we caution everyone the lane patterns posted should be used as a guideline and may play very differently than what was expected.

Kegel and South Point is pleased to announce the projected lane pattern for The Mini-Eliminator and Classified Mini-Eliminator. The condition will be 40 feet long and play similiar to Kegel's "Beaten Path" pattern (visit www.kegel.net for more information.)

The goal with this pattern is to allow different angles to the pocket to occur that will not giving a specific type of player an advantage. Despite the fact that multiple angles will play the scoring environment should be challenging.

Kegel is also going to introduce an updated way of putting down the condition which should make the shot more consistent. They are going to be able to "brush" the oil both going forward and backward. South Point will be testing the shot a few weeks prior to the events which means the pattern shown will be tweaked before the tournament begins.
